Art School of Kozani
Established in 2018, the Art School of Kozani is located in N. Kleitos, a suburb of Kozani. For the 2024-2025 academic year, we proudly host 186 students aged 12 to 18. Admission is determined through entrance exams in dance, painting, and/or theatre.
As a School of Arts in Greece, we function as a standard secondary education institution with an enhanced focus on the arts, providing a comprehensive educational experience that balances both academic and artistic development.
Our educational program is divided into two cycles:
Lower Secondary Education (Gymnasio)
This compulsory three-year cycle caters to students aged 12 to 15, offering general education alongside specialized artistic courses. Completion of this stage is required for progression to upper secondary education.
Upper Secondary Education (Lykeio)
This optional three-year cycle begins at age 15 and continues the integration of general and artistic education. During this phase, students prepare for the Panhellenic Examinations (Πανελλαδικές Εξετάσεις), the national entrance exams for higher education institutions in Greece. Our curriculum is designed to ensure that students are well-prepared for these examinations, facilitating their transition to university-level studies.
Artistic Curriculum
In addition to the National Curriculum, our students engage in an extensive artistic program designed to cultivate their creative talents:
- Dance: Students explore various dance forms, including classical ballet, contemporary dance, and traditional Greek dances. The curriculum emphasizes technique, performance, and choreography, fostering both individual expression and ensemble collaboration.
- Theatre-Cinema: Our theatre program covers acting techniques, improvisation, script analysis, and stage production. Students participate in performances that enhance their understanding of theatrical arts and develop their confidence and public speaking skills.
- Fine Arts: The fine arts curriculum includes drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital arts. Students are encouraged to experiment with different media and styles, developing their unique artistic voices.
By offering this comprehensive artistic education alongside standard academic subjects, the Art School of Kozani ensures that students receive a well-rounded education. Our mission is to immerse students in the arts, nurture their talents and creativity, and provide a safe, supportive environment where they can thrive.
